Hello, we are Sara and Zé.

We share life, love, and recently a son, Francisco. Together, we are the minds and hearts behind Colibri, since 2012.

At Colibri Films, we believe that every wedding is unique and deserves to be told with truth, emotion, and aesthetics. Our approach is documentary and natural, with an editorial touch that values ​​both simplicity and creativity in each image.

More than filming, our mission is to preserve memories. Our films are authentic journeys through time, real stories brought to life through image and sound.

We are happy to tell stories. Stories of love, but also of family and friendship. True, simple, and moving stories, told with soul.

WHAT DRAWS US INTO WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY

We truly feel we have the best job in the world. Even after all these years, we still get emotional when finishing a film. There is always a moment when we imagine that specific family watching it years later, reliving the day, the people, the laughter, and the love that surrounded them.

Wedding videography allows us to preserve something incredibly meaningful, which is why storytelling is what truly draws us to it.

In a way, we see ourselves as keepers of memories, carefully preserving stories so they can be felt and lived again for many years to come. 

Together we create. Individually, we each bring something unique to the stories we tell.

Sara Silva

  • I absolutely love building things, whether it’s Lego or puzzles, and nothing makes me happier. There’s a childlike joy in creating something piece by piece, and I carry that same energy into the way I approach life and filmmaking. I find joy in editing, in giving shape to stories, and in bringing order to the beautiful chaos of life. Volunteering has also shaped who I am, it taught me that even the smallest gestures can transform someone’s day.

    For me, every memory matters. Every smile, every touch, every fleeting moment deserves to be kept alive, because those are the things that truly endure.

    And that's what we do every day with our son, we have a whole video diary so that one day we can relive everything he experienced.

Zé

  • My story with video began long before I even realized it. When I was a child, my father brought home a giant VHS camera and filmed everything from the day I was born. I guess that’s when the spark was lit. I used to grab kitchen paper rolls and pretend they were cameras, already dreaming of capturing moments. For 17 years, I created a Christmas video for my family from old tapes, a way of freezing time and holding on to what matters most.

    I’ve been in the wedding industry since 2008, back when transitions were hearts and stars, and Il Divo was always on the soundtrack. What I love the most hasn’t changed: telling real stories, filled with emotion. Today, my greatest joy is simple, traveling, spending time with my son, and being with my family. For me, that’s life’s greatest treasure.

Meet the Team

Marta and Tiago were once part of Colibri Films core team. Today, they share their passion for communication, marketing, and visual arts through teaching but they’re still close friends and trusted collaborators. Whenever needed, they join us as assistant videographers, bringing their talent and creativity to support your story.
